Dr. Lindner is currently the Frances Ball Professor and Vice Chair for Research in the Cardiology Division at the University of Virginia.. Dr. Lindner has expertise in the fields of cardiovascular imaging and microvascular physiology; and is currently the principal investigator on several R01 grants from the National Institutes of Health and a grant from NASA. His research laboratory has pioneered the use of contrast ultrasound for non-invasive molecular imaging of disease, the evaluation of microvascular function/dysfunction, and ultrasound-mediated therapy. He is Past President for the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE); and serves as the Chair for the Exam Writing Committee and on the Board of Directors for the National Board of Echocardiography. He also serves as co-Chair of the NIH/NHLBI Data Safety Monitoring Board for Gene and Cell Therapies.
